Will You Change?

Islamophobia exists everywhere.
In every community, every country and every era of history.

The question is – does empathy exist in all these places too?
Can it be sparked to counteract hateful ideologies?

Change cannot begin without awareness, and society being aware of your oppression is a privilege itself. Cultural and religious minorities are often mistreated, wrongfully judged and discriminated against. Once political and social authorities deem a community to be unworthy of respect and, sometimes, rights – it is difficult to prove otherwise.

Muslims around the world are subjected to such hatred purely because of their religious affiliations and beliefs.

  • Recognise

One cannot find a solution without recognising that a problem exists. An issue of this intensity has several layers with deep-rooted causes and consequences, which need to be nipped in the bud if they are to be hindered.

  • Inform

A key way to increase social awareness is through knowledge, education and information. Islamophobia exists and continues to infiltrate every level of global society. By staying informed we defy and challenge forms of brainwashing, stereotypes and misrepresentation that are pushed on us.

  • Change

It all begins with you. By recognising Islamophobia in its explicit and implicit forms within your own actions or those of the people around you, positive change is already underway. Self-reflection, empathy and accountability begins from within.
